The top of the ruined Doune Castle Keep, visited on our Highlands Tour, is seen here against a vivid blue sky. There is a flagpole situated on top of the keep, from which a Scottish flag hangs.

Loch Tay, on our Doune Castle and Highlands Tour, is a still, silvery blue in this shot. Across the water rises the snow-capped bulk of a mountain. In the foreground, silhouetted against the water is an Iron Age hut on a rough log pier or platform. This type of dwelling is known as a Crannog.

A huge chateau-style castle dominates this image, standing above us on a rise. Many-turreted and white, it stands under a blue, but cloudy, sky and gardens are at the castle's feet.

An ornate victorian fountain in iron stands in the foreground and Dornoch Cathedral (visited on our Dunrobin Castle and Falconry Tour) dominates the image. The sun is on the honey-coloured stone of the cathedral (dating from the 1200s) and there is a blue sky above. Three or four leafless trees stand in front of the cathedral.

Huge waterfall falling into a gorge on our Inverewe Gardens and Waterfalls Tour. The canyon sides are tree clad and moss covered. Two smaller falls can be seen falling into the gorge (one on each side). A footbridge spans the main falls and no sky is visible.

Inveraray Castle on our Loch Lomond and Inveraray Castle Tour dominates and fills this shot. A gothic revival castle built in the 1700's, it is grey, square and with four round corner towers with conical roofs. Green lawns are at the foot of the picture and a cloudy blue sky above.

There is a blue sky with two snow capped mountains. The foreground is a lake, and the centrepiece is a ruined castle projecting into the lake on a wooded spit of land. This whole picture is then imperfectly reflected in the rippled surface of the lake.

Under a blue and white-cloud sky stands 1400's Rosslyn Chapel. It is intricately carved and one of the best examples of Gothic architecture is Scotland.

From a high vantage point on the Scottish Borders and Rosslyn Chapel Tour we see three high hills in the centre of the horizon, amidst a landscape of rolling green fields and woods. The foreground is Gorse in yellow flower and the sky is a hazy blue.

The fragmentary ruins of St Andrews Abbey are seen under a cloudy blue sky. There is a stone-arched gateway, then the mown grass which occupies what used to be the Abbey interior. At the far end we see two ruined pointed towers connected by a wall which has the large empty frame of a once magnificent window.

Falkland is a small town on the St Andrews, Castles and Golf Tour. Here are five of the colourful old cottages on the main street. Farther down the street is the 1500's Renaiisance facade of Falkland Palace. The sky is very dark but the buildings are sunlit. There are eight cars parked along the left hand side of the street.

A ginger-coloured hairy cow with horns rubbing its throat on a barbed wire fence fills this image. The background is of Kilmahog on our Stirling Castle and Highland Cattle Tour. It is out-of-focus green field, wooded hill and cloudy sky.

Grass occupies the near foreground, and then a single line of deciduous tress fringing a lake shore. The sky above is blue, and partially reflected in the lake, but a white early morning mist over the water obscures much. On the far shore a wodded hill rises, and at it's foot, just emerging from the mist are three towers of a castle.
