Irene Fraser

Irene is a true Invernessian and was born and bred on the Black Isle.  When not guiding it is very rare to see her without a fiddle in her hand.   Privileged to have learned under Donald Riddell CBE, she has played the fiddle since she was 4 years old and has taken part in many music festivals both in Scotland and abroad.  She teaches fiddle, mandolin and banjo and plays in the ‘Full Tilt’ Ceilidh Band.  So, as well as traveling through Scotland, you may find yourself listening to some music or learning some Scottish dances on the side of Loch Ness!

Perfect day on the Isle of Skye We had an amazing day with Irene guiding our family of five to the Isle of Skye. Her wealth of knowledge and engaging stories truly brought the history of the area to life. She was fantastic with our kids, making them feel included and entertained throughout. Great trip in Scotland Irene was terrific. Spent 4 days with her and enjoyed every minute. She made the trip even more fun, more educational and more interesting. Always on time and a font of Scottish lore. Someone in our group of 4 needed to see a doctor on the last day. She went out of her way to find one. Then dropped others off at hotel and went back with the patient until he was completed. Then drove patients back to hotel even though her time was officially up hours before. Ask for Irene! We had the most wonderful time with our guide Irene Fraser! Her knowledge of the area and easy nature had us entranced from the moment our drive began. We had two days with Irene and we easily could have enjoyed her company during our entire stay in Scotland. Highly recommend! And we were relieved we did not rent a car and drive ourselves.
