Alison Wilson – Tour Guide & Musician with a Love for Scotland

I’m Alison, Ali to my friends, a Quine from Banff, in Aberdeenshire.  I’ve spent my life surrounded by Scotland’s breathtaking beauty, music, and food. Growing up in Banff, in the Northeast of Scotland, my first language was Doric, the mither tongue of the region. My mum was a talented pianist and my dad the cook on a boat, so music and food have always been at the heart of my life.  After spending four years in Edinburgh as a full-time musician and touring Europe with various bands, I found my home in Inverness in 1999. I fell in love with the people and the awe-inspiring landscapes – every road from Inverness leads to some of the most beautiful scenery in the world.

Alongside my love for music, I’ve developed a deep passion for adventure. Over the last 15 years, I’ve embraced the challenge of Scottish hill walking and completed the West Highland Way. I also have a deep knowledge of the Highlands and Islands, including some of the best-hidden gems, local pubs, and restaurants you won’t find on the typical tourist trail.

I’ve spent over 12 years gigging as a singer across Scotland, Ireland, and Europe, performing at stadiums, festivals, and on the radio. My love for the arts also led me to pursue an HND in Acting and Performance, and I bring that same enthusiasm and energy to my tours, infusing each one with stories, music, and nature.

I specialize in touring with walks, nature trails, and a touch of music along the way. And yes, I’m a big Outlander fan, so expect to hear some fascinating tales from the show’s filming locations!

In my spare time, you’ll find me exploring Scotland in my Campervan, wild swimming, cooking or eating out, or enjoying cosy nights in with my cats. I can’t wait to share the magic of Scotland with you!
