Laura Moon

Laura, a proud and passionate Scot, was born south of Glasgow. Her love of Scottish culture and its deep history was something she inherited because of her father’s singing. As a result of hearing Scotland’s tales and history in song she wanted to learn more. In 1989 she joined a historical society called The White Cockade and has never looked back. She has a particular interest in the history and the stories of Highland Clan Society and loves to show guests the land where their forefathers once walked.

Realising she was spending too much time travelling to the Highlands for recreation, she decided to move there in 2003.                                                                   ‘The thing I love about living in the HIghlands is the easy access to some stunning and historically interesting places. I therefore don’t have to go far to find something that makes my heart glad. Having a personal relationship with the area means that I can show you these places and entertain you with historical background that gives you a genuine flavour for the area.”

Very much at home in the great outdoors Laura is a keen hill walker and skier. ‘There is no better way to experience a place than to feel it under your feet. We have some of the most accessible and spectacular scenery in the world. I am passionate about sharing it with you.’ With this in mind, Laura is happy to incorporate a suitable walk into your tour days.

She is an entertaining and engaging guide who knows a great deal about the impressive attractions, outstanding scenery, hidden gems and off-the-beaten-track places that show off Scotland.

Great afternoon with Inverness Tours at Loch Ness Great, knowledgeable, and friendly local guides - highly recommend. Laura was fantastic and made a somewhat rainy day on Loch Ness and Urquhart shine.

Ian & Laura and their team are simply The Best! There are some really wonderful tour guides in Scotland - truthfully, Scotland itself makes that an easy job - but the fact that my family and I keep coming back year after year to tour with Ian Deveney should tell you everything you need to know about Inverness Tours! We’ve graduated from tourist sites and Outlander to the beautiful un-touristy backroads of Scotland, and Ian never fails to make our tours the very best part of our trip. Inverness Tours crafts tours that are tailored to your interests, and in addition to being a great planner and personable guide, Ian is a master storyteller, a reenactor, a detectorist, and the very best ambassador for his amazing homeland. We’re already plotting our next trip - we’ll see you soon!

Amazing, personalized two-day tour! Every part of our experience was incredible! Organizing our tailored two-day tour with Laura and Hugh was smooth and efficient. And Ali, our tour guide, was absolutely fabulous! Ali's knowledge of our activities across all two days, her friendly personality, and her thoughtfulness in accommodating the needs of our group of eight surpassed all expectations! Ali truly made the trip unforgettable! I couldn’t imagine a better guide! I look forward to booking with Inverness Tours and with Ali again on a future visit to Inverness.

Best Day Ever Our wonderful service started with Laura, who helped build a day tour that took our group of 6 to all of our "must see" places. Weeks prior to our arrival Laura and I emailed back and forth to hammer down our "wish list" into a fun filled day. She pair us with Ali. What a gem she is! Ali's knowledge of the area and her desire to make our tour the best it could be is the reason our tour was one of our favorite part of our week tour in the UK. We HIGHLY recommend Inverness Tours!

3rd time's a charm tour As our title indicates we have had the privilege and pleasure of touring 3 times with Inverness Tours. For us less is more and always Laura was so patient in helping us to be focused on a logical route where we could enjoy to our heart's content the sites we visited. It was wonderful to have the time & opportunity to actually chat with volunteers and staff at the sties we visited. These interactions enriched our visits immeasurably. Our visit to Scotland last fall was 10 days full of amazing sites visited, wonderfully quirky Scotland weather, treasured moments with our guide Amanda. Highlights of this tour are a visit to Preston Mill, Innerpeffray Library, weavers and their croft and Callanais Stones on the Isle of Lewis and a visit to ancestral castle ruins. These places might not appeal to you but be assured that Laura will create an adventure especially for you, your interests and your preferred touring style. We love Scotland. It might not be Nirvana but for us it's a close second. Exploring Scotland with Inverness Tours has been the best decision we ever made.

She sees herself as an excellent communicator and storyteller; her easy and clear tone of voice will entertain you with tales and information throughout your journey.

Laura’s car is the seven-passenger Ford Tourneo Custom. With reclining seats, and air conditioning throughout – this ensures touring in comfort and style.
