Beautiful Loch Lochy in the Great Glen on our Isle of Mull Tour

A08 Inverness to Isle of Mull Tour seeing the Great Glen of Scotland, Isle of Mull, Duart Castle and Fort William with three fun and relaxing ferry trips - Eleven Hours

Note that this tour is only available as a day tour from the first Saturday in April and before the first Saturday in October owing to amount of daylight required.

lochyWe set off down the Great Glen alongside Loch Ness, Loch Oich, spectacular Loch Lochy and through Fort William. It is here that we reach the west coast and Loch Linnhe, a long arm running in from the Atlantic Ocean.

Travelling south from Fort William we reach Corran Ferry, and cross into the wilds of Ardgour - Maclean country!

We make our way through Morvern towards Lochaline. Here we board the ferry for the Isle of Mull.

We usually arrive at Fishnish at 12.13pm, and drive immediately to Tobermory, the picturesque island capital of the Isle of Mull. Here there is time for both lunch and to wander round the shops, the pier, and the brightly coloured houses.Tobermory featured in the Children's TV series, Balamory.

Next we head south to Craignure where there is time to visit Duart Castle (Clan seat of Clan Maclean). It dates from the 12th century and was restored by Sir Fitzroy Maclean in the early years of the 20th century. It has featured in the movies "When Eight Bells Toll" - 1971, and "Entrapment" - 1999.

After spending most of the afternoon on the Isle of Mull, we return by the same routing, across the Fishnish ferry usually arriving at Lochaline at 4.43pm. If time permits we then take a different road back to the Corran Ferry in Ardgour, and crossing to Nether Lochaber we journey along the delightful coast road to Fort William.

We then return along the Great Glen back to Inverness, taking, where time allows, some different scenic back roads. Weather permitting there will be an opportunity to photograph the Ben Nevis Range of mountains from the Commando Memorial near Spean Bridge.

This tour is also ideal to extend into a two day tour and there is information about this within our extended tours section. Two Day Great Glen, Isle of Skye, Isle of Mull and Great Glen Tour

Price: £395 for guide and vehicle - check top of calendar for how many passengers each guide can carry. In addition there are ferry charges of around £110.
